Process for Responding to Public Records Requests, Subpoenas, and Release of Records

As a public institution of higher education, University of Louisiana at Lafayette maintains information regarding many individuals and entities (e.g., students, faculty, staff, and third parties doing business with the University). From time to time, the University receives public records requests, subpoenas, and requests for release of records. Such requests require a timely response by the University. 

Should a department or individual within the University receive a public records request, please promptly contact the Office of Communications & Marketing at (337) 482-6397 and forward the public records request to communications@louisiana.edu.

Should a department or individual within the University receive a subpoena, request for release of records, or other request which would not be considered a public records request, please promptly contact the Office of Operational Review at (337) 482-1394 and forward the subpoena, release, or other request to contracts@louisiana.edu.
