Appliances

All purchases of household or laboratory appliances (such as refrigerators, freezers, ice makers, microwaves, and dishwashers), regardless of cost, must follow general purchasing guidelines as follows:

• If the total cost (inclusive of shipping) is less than $1,000, items can be purchased via LaCarte, 
• If the total cost is greater than $1,000, a requisition is required, and should be entered with a firm fixed quote into Banner.
• The purchase of energy star qualified appliances is recommended.

If possible, appliances should be purchased from existing state contracts.

Due to safety concerns, household appliances are not to be purchased for use in laboratories.
